Schwedt out of luck in ERC

Roman Schwedt suffered frustration when the Pirelli-supported FIA ERC3 Junior Championship resumed on Rally Islas Canarias last weekend.

Hampered by suspension issues in testing and a steering issue on the opening morning of the all-asphalt event, the German teenager was forced to retire on the final day with an overheating engine in his Team ROMO Peugeot 208 R2.

“We can only learn and the second loop was really good for me,” said Schwedt. “I had a good feeling with the car, I like the stages but I need more kilometres for the time to come. In the second loop my karting experience helped. But then our engine overheated on the final day and we must stop because the temperatures were over 110 degrees.”
