Tarabus begins his 2016 ERC bid on Circuit of Ireland

FIA European Rally Championship regular Jaromír Tarabus will kick off his 2016 campaign on the Circuit of Ireland.

The Czech driver and his navigator Daniel Trunkát finished fifth in the final ERC standings last year, and this year will campaign the ŠKODA Fabia R5 that they used for the first time in Zlín last August. The pair plan to take part in as many as eight rounds of the 2016 ERC.

Tarabus finished eighth on the Circuit of Ireland in 2015, recovering after falling to 20th following an off into a ditch.

He said: "Circuit of Ireland rally is very nice with very nice stages. Last year we enjoyed it a lot but we made one mistake in Banbridge stage and we lost a lot of time.

"This year it will by very difficult, because it is part of the British championship with a lot of good competitors. It'll be a big challenge for us. We'll do our best and hope it'll be a good result for us."
