Media invitation: World RX season launch in Barcelona

The media launch for the 2015 FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy will be held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, home to the Spanish Formula One and MotoGP races, on Monday 13 April.

World RX Championship promoter IMG would like to invite press to its pre-season media day, where the full driver line-up for 2015 will be revealed for the first time. A select number of World RX Supercars will also be present.

Stars such as reigning World RX Champion Petter Solberg will be in attendance and there will be a limited number of passenger rides for selected media to experience the spectacular power of the 600bhp Supercars which accelerate from 0-60mph in less than two seconds.

Built in 1991 the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is based in Montmelo in northern Barcelona and has been used as an F1 track for 24 years. Organisers have already started working on the purpose-built RX track, which will encompass part of the existing F1 circuit.

Barcelona is the second major city to host a round of World RX after Istanbul staged the Championship's inaugural city race at the Intercity Istanbul Park last October. Barcelona RX will form round ten of the Championship and will run from 18-20 September.

Media day timetable:
0930-1100: Accreditation sign-on and breakfast in media centre
1115-1130: Class of 2015 driver photoshoot
1130-1200: Livery reveal
1215-1300: Press conference
1330-1400: Lunch
1400: Driver media interviews
1500-1600: Selected media passenger rides
