ERC to return to scenic Mournes region on Circuit of Ireland

The FIA European Rally Championship will return to the scenic Mournes region of Northern Ireland for leg two of the Circuit of Ireland on 7-9 April.

Starting from Downpatrick on the morning of Saturday 9 April, ERC crews will first take on the Bucks Head stage followed by Hamiltons Folly - a stage that then-ERC driver Kevin Abbring described as "how a rally should be" in 2014. The Bulls Brook and Banbridge tests follow, with all four stages then repeated in the afternoon after service in Belfast.

Circuit of Ireland event director Bobby Willis said: "We are delighted to be returning to this wonderfully scenic route in Mournes region. The area has been a hugely popular with drivers and spectators alike over previous years. My sincere thanks go to Newry, Mourne and Down District Council for their support and enthusiasm for the event. The Circuit team are also very grateful to the local people for how they've so enthusiastically got behind the Circuit of Ireland."

The rally is a truly international event and an important tourism asset, bringing visitors from all over the world to spectate and compete.
