Former ERC champ Kopecký turns taxi driver

Jan Kopecký, winner of the 2013 FIA European Rally Championship, gave more than 20 Prague residents a taxi ride with a difference prior to Christmas.

ŠKODA Motorsport's star Czech driver, winner of his home round of the ERC last August, gave members of the public the chance to experience the make's Fabia R5 in somewhat unusual circumstances.

Several ‘R5 Taxi' stands were installed in Prague's old town and Kopecký was on hand to give those keen to have a go a "real adrenaline treat", according to the company's press release.

Afterwards, Kopecký said: "It was magnificent with Prague full of tourists and locals. I was amazed at how many people always gathered around the car. I was really surprised."

Kopecký is expected to make his now customary annual ERC appearance when Barum Czech Rally Zlín takes place from 24-26 August. Meanwhile.
