Wurz headlines Hell RX entry list

The entry list for the fifth round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship at Hell in Norway (June 8 - 10) has been revealed by the FIA, with two-time Le Mans winner and ex Formula One driver Alexander Wurz headlining the list of wildcard entrants.

Wurz will race MJP Racing Team Austria's Ford Fiesta in Norway as part of a 22-strong World RX Supercar field, including the six permanent two-car teams and three individual entrants. Wurz has previously tested with the Austrian team and joins multiple Austrian Rallycross Champion and team owner Mx Pucher in a two-car line-up.

Former European Rallycross Champion Tommy Rustad will make his second start of 2018 at his home event, following his first appearance of the year in a Marklund - HTB Racing Volkswagen Polo next week in the British round at the Silverstone Speedmachine Festival. He will be joined in Norway by reigning Euro RX Champion Anton Marklund.

Finland's Joni-Pekka Rajala, a former Euro RX podium finisher, will race a Ford Fiesta Supercar for Team STARD alongside permanent driver Janis Baumanis, and Euro RX contender Kjetil Larsen will race in his home round of World RX in his first Supercar season. Britain's Oliver Bennett will compete in his BMW Mini Cooper.

25 drivers will compete in the FIA European Rallycross Championship for Super1600, with three competitors on the reserve list, proving the popularity of the front-wheel drive category. Latvia's Artis Baumanis won the first two rounds of 2018 and leads the Championship by five points from Volland Racing team mate Rokas Baciuska.

In the FIA European Rallycross Championship for TouringCar, 17 drivers will challenge for glory, led by former champion and round one winner Fredrik Salsten. Having moved to Euro RX Supercar for 2018 and qualified for the final at Mettet in Belgium last weekend, former TouringCar title-contender Anders Braten will return to the rear-wheel category for his home event driving a Ford Fiesta.

The RX2 International Series will also form part of the Hell RX event, the entry list for which will be released in due course.
