WTCC Q&A: Thed Björk

Polestar Cyan Racing's swift Swede Thed Björk made the perfect start to his team's ‘home' round of the FIA World Touring Car Championship by setting the pace in Free Practice 1 at WTCC Race of China this morning. This is what he had to say following his rapid performance in his factory Volvo S60 Polestar TC1.

A very good start Thed and a good time out there. You must be pleased?
"It was nice and it felt good to do it. It feels like it has been up and down with testing different things on the car but today we put it a little back together again. We were fastest sometimes at the beginning of the season but then we didn't get it together for the qualifying but I hope we can learn something and continue doing that."

How much did your track knowledge count because you obviously raced here back in 2013?
"It gets so much nicer to go out on track and you know where it turns and you know some of the parts. It will be really nice to come back to the track when I have the same feeling I have now. I know this track and for sure it helps."

What's the plan for Free Practice 2, will you make many changes?
"We need to but we need to not do too much because we have tested so much during the year. Now we need to think about what to do for the qualifying that is the best, not test a lot of different things. I know my engineers love to test different things but we will see if we can keep it together this weekend!"
