Moffett: Azores ERC podium beyond expectations

Josh Moffett has admitted that finishing second in the inaugural FIA ERC Junior U28 Championship classification on the Azores Airlines Rallye last weekend exceeded his expectations.

Moffett followed category rival Marijan Griebel in third overall in the Ford Fiesta R5 he shares with co-driver and fellow Irishman James Fulton.

"Without doubt before the start I was hoping to finish in the top five but when we got here I knew that would be a challenge in itself so we're over the moon to be here in this position," Moffett said at the finish.

He continued: "It was such a challenging rally, unbelievable and the nerves were really going towards the end. I was just trying to keep it going and keep it as nice and tidy as possible, particularly in the fog, which was so difficult to get through."
