Michigami will work hard to push hard in the WTCC
Ryo Michigami will keep working in order to go even faster in the FIA World Touring Car Championship after he scored his first WTCC point in Marrakech earlier this month.
Michigami, a long-term member of the Honda Racing family, made the pledge following his second WTCC weekend at the start of what will be his first full season in the championship.
After contact with Rob Huff in the Opening Race at WTCC AFRIQUIA Race of Morocco, Michigami hit back to finish P10 in the Main Race but conceded there is plenty of room for improvement behind the wheel of his Honda Civic WTCC. "I need to continue to work on my race pace at the coming events. I'm sure this will come as my experience of the WTCC increases."
Of his Morocco experience, the Japanese racer said: "It was a mixed day for me. I'm disappointed to have been taken out of the Opening Race after I'd made a very good start and made up a couple of positions. My rear suspension was broken, but because it happened early on, my mechanics had a chance to get the car fixed before the Main Race and scoring a point was a good result,"
Michigami will continue his World Touring Car Championship adventure when Monza hosts WTCC OSCARO Race of Italy from 28-30 April. Download tickets at OSCARO.it.
