Honda weight boost for WTCC Race of Germany

The battle for the FIA World Touring Car Championship for Manufacturers has taken another twist with the five Hondas in action at WTCC Race of Germany next week 10 kilograms lighter than the trio of Volvo S60 Polestar World Touring Cars under the compensation weight system.

Designed to equalise car performance in the WTCC using a time-based calculation, the compensation weights have been adjusted for WTCC Race of Germany as follows:

Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1: 30kg
Citroën C-Elysée WTCC: 80kg
Honda Civic WTCC: 70kg
LADA Vesta WTCC: 0kg
Volvo S60 Polestar: 80kg

In addition to the Hondas running 10 kilograms lighter than they did last time out in Hungary, the Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1s of Tom Coronel and Esteban Guerrieri will have compensation weight - 30 kilograms - fitted for the first time this season.

WTCC Race of Germany takes place at the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife from 25-27 May.
