Daytona 24 Hours: WEC champion Jani fastest again in Roar test
Porsche's 2016 World Endurance champion Neel Jani kept Rebellion Racing on top on the second day of the Roar Before the 24 at Daytona.
Jani led the way for Rebellion on the opening day of the pre-Daytona 24 Hours running, and stayed there on Saturday.
He took two tenths off his Friday time, turning a 1m38.994s in Rebellion's ORECA-Gibson 07 in the evening session, while team-mates Sebastien Buemi, Stephane Sarrazin and Nick Heidfeld were all contesting Formula E's Las Vegas sim race.
Mazda's new RT24-P Riley was second fastest with Tristan Nunez, while Ben Hanley was third for the DragonSpeed ORECA outfit.
Ricky Taylor set the pace in the first of the day's three sessions, which was run in the wet, aboard Wayne Taylor Racing's Cadillac DPi-V.R.
Four-time IndyCar champion Scott Dixon finished on top in the GT Le Mans ranks, with a 1m44.558s in his Ford GT.
Dixon's effort was two tenths faster than the class-topping time set by Corvette's Jan Magnussen on Friday.
The test concludes with two more sessions on Sunday, ahead of the IMSA SportsCar Championship season opener on January 28/29.
