Sesks keeping ERC Junior U27 title hopes in check
Mārtiņš Sesks makes his Barum Czech Rally Zlín debut next week leading the Pirelli-supported FIA ERC Junior Under 27 Championship but under no illusions that the title is his.
The Latvian teenager has made a sensational start to his maiden European campaign with two class podiums and a win from three events. He holds a 27-point championship lead as a result with half the season remaining.
"Travelling to Zlín as the leader of FIA ERC Junior U27 is a great feeling," said the ADAC Opel Rallye Junior Team driver. "But in fact the fight for the championship is not decided. The competition is so tough and anything can happen in ERC Junior U27. The good news is that the Opel ADAM R2 as well as the ADAC Opel Rallye Junior Team have proved their extremely high potential. So it's all up to my co-driver Renars [Francis] and myself to get the maximum out of our strong package in every contest."
The sealed-surface Barum Czech Rally Zlín takes place from 24-26 August.
