Klausz: Nyíregyháza stages would suit ERC
ERC Junior Kristóf Klausz has stated the stages used on last weekend's Nyíregyháza Rally, which has been included on the provisional FIA European Rally Championship calendar for 2019 as Rally Hungary, would do the ERC proud.
Klausz has made 20 ERC starts since 2013 and has amassed experience of a number of European championship rounds during that time.
Speaking ahead of the Nyíregyháza Rally, the 22-year-old Hungarian said: "According to the experience we gained during the recce we can confirm that these stages are suitable for hosting an ERC race. I like them very much."
Rally Hungary's ERC counter going ahead is subject to FIA World Motor Sport Council approval and dependent on the event passing the governing body's inspection, which was carried out when the event ran as the Nyíregyháza Rally last weekend
"From bumpy and wide asphalt to high quality forest roads, this race will provide everything," Klausz continued. "It would be a great feeling if we could come back here within the ERC and we could fight with the best of Europe at home. It would be an advantage for us that we would surely benefit from. Spectators also miss an international race in Hungary and by making a bid for the ERC, something has already started. I will be very happy if this process continues."
