#GP800: MotoGP™ celebrates the 800th premier-class race

The Gran Premio Movistar de Aragon sees the 800th race in the premier-class class of Grand Prix racing. When the World Championships were first introduced in 1949, the premier-class was limited to 500cc machines. Major changes to the rules were introduced for the 2002 season, with the capacity limit increased initially to 990cc for four-stroke machines and the class re-named MotoGP™.
