WTCC testing resumes, Huff still on a high

Rob Huff has continued to set the standard in pre-season testing for the FIA World Touring Car Championship.

He lapped the 5.793-kilometre Monza track in 1m52.497s, which proved to be the fastest time during this morning's session in Italy.

Behind the ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport driver came another Citroën privateer, Huff's fellow Briton Tom Chilton, who ended up 1.185s off top spot, having been quickest until his compatriot's stunning late effort. Chilton is celebrating turning 32 today.

Tom Coronel was third fastest for ROAL Motorsport, the Dutchman getting his first meaningful running in his Chevrolet after clashing commitments meant he was only able to complete limited running on Tuesday.

Néstor Girolami was fourth and the top factory Volvo Polestar driver with John Filippi and Mehdi Bennani next up for Sébastien Loeb Racing.

Tiago Monteiro led the works Honda contingent in seventh followed by fellow factory drivers Ryo Michigami and Norbert Michelisz. Thed Björk and Yvan Muller were also running albeit without recording lap times.
