WTCC racer Dahlgren back from the brink to win in Sweden
WTCC racer Robert Dahlgren went from zero to hero when he returned to Scandinavian Touring Car Championship action at Karlskoga last weekend.
The Polestar Cyan Racing driver was hospitalised following his return from WTCC Race of Argentina with a stomach virus. However, he was fit enough to get back behind the wheel just a few days later to resume his title battle with team-mate Richard Göransson, whose advantage over Dahlgren has been trimmed to 11 points.
"I am really pleased with this weekend," said Dahlgren, who won the opener at Karlskoga before finishing fifth in race two. "The team gave me the best car I've had all season, so big thanks to them. I'm heading home now to recharge my batteries after two tough weeks."
Dahlgren made his FIA World Touring Car Championship return in Portugal in late June and was back in action in Argentina earlier this month, finishing P16 in the Main Race in a Volvo S60 Polestar TC1.
