Thirty years and counting for WTCC returnee Mak
Mak Ka Lok will celebrate Macau Grand Prix appearance number 30 when he returns to the FIA World Touring Car Championship at his home event.
RC Motorsport's new recruit, who has 12 WTCC starts to his name, last raced in the championship in 2014 (pictured) but will be back in action when WTCC JVCKENWOOD Race of Macau, the Suncity Macau Guia Race, takes place this week.
"I had a good opportunity to replace Filipe de Souza for this race and I am happy, so lucky to get this chance," said Mak. "I don't know the car [but Filipe told me] compared to the TC2 I drove before it's more fast, more stable with good handling so hopefully it will not be so more difficult than the TC2. My goal is to qualify for the 107 per cent rule, complete the races, break my lap time and improve lap by lap."
Mak, 52, made his Macau debut in 1988 driving a Toyota in the Novice Cup event. He finished in the top 12.
