TAG Heuer Fastest Lap Trophy: WTCC consolation for Catsburg

Nicky Catsburg claimed the TAG Heuer Fastest Lap Trophy at the WTCC Race of Argentina, but it will be little more than a consolation prize after the Volvo driver lost a certain victory.

The Polestar Cyan Racing Volvo ace was holding a commanding lead in the Main Race at the Circuito Termas de Río Hondo when his S60 suffered a second left-front puncture hot on the heels of an identical failure in the Opening Race. Castrol Honda World Touring Car Team's Norbert Michelisz inherited the lead and the subsequent race victory.

But Catsburg had already done enough to secure the TAG Heuer Fastest lap Trophy by lapping the 4.8km circuit in 1m44.480s on lap four, just three before his heartbreaking puncture.

Volvo team-mate Thed Björk had set the fastest lap of the Opening Race with a time of 1m44.727s on his way to an eventful sixth place finish.
