Szeja brothers in ERC debut

Brothers Jarek and Marcin Szeja will make their FIA European Rally Championship debuts when Rally Rzeszow hosts the fifth event of the all-action ERC season next month.

Hailing from double ERC champion Kajetan Kajetanowicz's hometown of Ustron, the Szejas will use the same Orsák Rally Sport Ford Fiesta R5 they campaign in the Czech championship with back from GK Forge, Metkom Group, DIL Recyclable Materials and Stalchem.

"There is still a long and demanding part of the season ahead of us," said Jarek Szeja. "But we have created a strong team, ready to face greatest challenges like ERC rounds. However, we will contest Rally Rzeszow with humbleness necessary for newcomers and motivation and determination, to seize the opportunity we have."

While this will be the first ERC appearance for the Szejas, older brother Jarek has seven starts on the event prior to its elevation to ERC status in 2016.

After five rounds of the Czech series they are fourth in the standings and the best international crew. Rally Rzeszow, meanwhile, takes place from 3-5 August on all-asphalt stages in the southeast of the country and counts as the third round of the Polish championship season.
