RX represented at Essen, Andros trophy & Autosport show

Even though the FIA World Rallycross Championship finished at the final round in South Africa in November, teams and drivers continue to be busy both behind the scenes and at events in the lead up to Christmas.

Last weekend, a number of World RX stars and cars attended the Essen Motor Show in Germany, including FIA World Rallycross Champion Johan Kristoffersson and Norway's Petter Solberg. The PSRX Volkswagen Sweden Polo GTi Supercar that won both the World RX Drivers' and Teams' Championships this season was on display, as was the EKS team's Audi S1 RX quattro Supercar, in Mattias Ekstrom's livery. Germany's Timo Scheider was also present.

On Sunday evening, Kristoffersson and Solberg attended the annual Autosport Awards ceremony in London.

In France, the DA Racing team began its challenge in the Trophee Andros series with World RX driver Jean-Baptiste Dubourg, who has won the title for the last two years, and FIA European Rallycross Championship driver Andrea Dubourg at Val Thorens in the Alps. Jean-Baptiste finished third on the first day but won the heats, SuperPole shoot-out and the final the second day to win his first race of the winter. "Two podiums in the same weekend, including a victory with the way we did it on Sunday afternoon, I would have signed right away for that," he said. "We are already looking forward to the next race in Alpe d'Huez next weekend." Andrea Dubourg finished fifth in both events. "It was a very positive weekend. I had a lot of fun behind the wheel of the new DA Racing's new Renault Captur. I am very satisfied with the results and I want to thank my mechanics who have done a lot of work all weekend," said the Euro RX driver.
