Özdemir hoping for ERC Rally Rzeszow return
Ümitcan Özdemir wants to continue his FIA European Rally Championship adventure - starting with the next round in Poland.
Özdemir won ERC3 on the Cyprus Rally earlier this month following a controlled performance in his Castrol Ford Team Turkey Fiesta R2T.
The Istanbul squad is running Murat Bostanci and Buǧra Banaz on Rally Rzeszow from 3-5 August and Özdemir hopes he'll also be able to join the team's attack.
"I want to compete in Poland," said Özdemir, who finished eighth in class in P28 overall on Rally Rzeszow last season. "It's a nice Tarmac rally and last year I was in Poland, it was a very nice experience, the best rally of my life. But our team will tell us, we will see."
Özdemir took full advantage of team-mate Banaz's early delays in Cyprus to take a comfortable class win.
"It was a real tough rally," he said. "If you push too hard something might happen, something might breakdown, maybe a puncture. We wanted to control the race and we did, it was perfect for us. I was nervous [on the final morning] because of the toughness of the stages, they are a surprise and you have to take care of the car."
