Loeb wins race at Paul Ricard

FIA World Rallycross Championship star Sebastien Loeb kept himself busy last weekend by competing at the first RallyCircuit event to be held at the Paul Ricard circuit in Southern France, as he swapped his Team Peugeot-Hansen 208 WRX Supercar for a Citroen DS3 World Rally Car.

With the car run by his own Sebastien Loeb Racing team and being co-driven by his wife Severine, Loeb set the fastest time on each of the event's 10 stages over two days, to win the rally that was run within the race circuit, over 140 kilometres. The Latvia RX winner finished the event over 1 minute 30 ahead of former World Touring Car Champion and World RX wildcard racer, Yvan Muller, also competing in a DS3 WRC.

"The aim of this weekend was to have fun and that was totally successful," said Loeb. "We are very pleased to win this first edition of the RallyCircuit. Everything went well for us, Severine did a great job, the notes were quality and perfectly in rhythm, it gave me good confidence and I could attack. It is always nice to drive a WRC car. I immediately found my bearings, it is as if I had never left. The team was perfect and the car was perfectly tuned. It was a few days really nice to conclude a beautiful season".

Also in action was RX Lites Cup champion, Cyril Raymond, driving a Peugeot 206cc, but the French driver retired with mechanical troubles while leading his class on both days of the action.

Loeb will return to the driving seat at the start of January, when he takes part in the famous Dakar rally with Peugeot Sport.
