Grosjean competes at Andros with rallycross team

French rallycross team DA Racing was joined by Formula One star Romian Grosjean at the third round of the Andros Trophy winter championship last weekend in Alpe d'Huez, racing alongside reigning champion and FIA World Rallycross Championship podium finisher, Jean-Baptiste Dubourg.

Making a one-off appearance with the squad, which competed in rounds of both World RX and Euro RX in 2016, Grosjean drove a Renault Clio Silohette to victory in the second of two finals at Alpe d'Huez, while Dubourg finished second in the first final to remain in contention for the championship with four events remaining. Dubourg is currently second in the standings, nine-points off the lead.

Grosjean had finished 11th in the first final, but qualified on pole position for the second and led the eight-lap race throughout to claim his third victory in the sport.

"The Andros Trophy is really an opportunity for me to drive with the DA Racing. There is a real feeling of teamwork in addition to the values ​​of friendships that I have linked to the Dubourg family," said Grosjean. "We optimised the settings (of the car) and the strategy to reach Super Pole and win the final in the best conditions. With the team, we realised the full potential and this shows the professional step forward made by the DA Racing in recent years. It clearly shows that DA Racing is the number one stable at the moment. "

Along with winning the Andros Trophy last winter, DA Racing's best ever World RX finish was at its home round at Loheac in 2015, where Durbourg finished on the podium together with winner Timmy Hansen and second placed Petter Solberg.
