Eriksson relfects on 2017 so far

Sweden's Kevin Eriksson qualified for the final in the most recent two rounds of the FIA World Rallycross Championship, in Sweden and Canada, and is targeting a podium finish before the end of the year.

Racing a Ford Fiesta Supercar for the MJP Racing Team Austria squad, Eriksson was fifth at Holjes then fourth in Trois-Rivieres. Although he missed the Loheac event last season, his eyes are set on another strong result next week. "I'm satisfied with how things have been going. I feel the speed has been good throughout the year but we've had some bad luck, especially in the first couple races didn't get the results we deserved. But, I've always been happy with my pace and I've made three finals, which not is very easy in World RX. My goal is always to try to beat the manufacturer-backed teams and to do that you need to be the best privateer in order to get into the final," said the 2016 Germany RX race winner.

"My goal going into every race is to try and finish on the podium. It's a hard task but I feel we can do it this season. I'm really looking forward to Germany where I feel on paper I have my best opportunity to make the podium, but I will do everything possible already next race in France. Loheac is actually a new race track for me, I didn't race there last year as I had to skip it to race in the RallyX Nordic Championship, which I won. I lost some valuable experience by not being at Loheac, but I think it will be fine."

In his first season driving away from his father Andreas' Olsbergs MSE team, Eriksson is team mate to double DTM champion Timo Scheider in the MJP team. "Working with Timo has been really good for me. He is a great guy, both when we are working on race day to get faster and help each other, but also outside of the race track we have become friends too. Everyone from Max (Pucher) the team owner, to the management and mechanics are really a great bunch of people."
