ERC Q&A: Frank Tore Larsen

Frank Tore Larsen's FIA European Rally Championship debut got off to a troubled start when he went off the road on Thursday's third stage. But the Norwegian promise will be back in action when the Azores Airlines Rallye concludes today.

What happened on stage three?

"I lost my concentration for a tenth of a second. I went a little too early into a corner down a crest. When I hit the apex the turn was tightening instead of opening and I just slid off the road. I was just stuck in a bank with not a scratch on the car so it's really frustrating we lost all the stages on Friday. But that's a lesson learned, we have to take it with us and hopefully we'll have a good day today."

You were sixth overall when you want off. How pleased were you with your performance at that point?

"It was okay. The first stage was really clean with a good time. We had some small misses because I wasn't completely confident with the tyres after the Tarmac section because the KM tyres are brand new to us. But it was still a good time. On the second stage I tried to save the tyres for the third stage because we had a lot of potential to hopefully show some good times."

What's the plan for today?

"The most important thing today is to get through the stages. We'll stick with the set-up and tyres we know and if we get a good feeling we'll try to set some good times."

And how did you keep busy yesterday?

"We were preparing as well as we could for today. We were not over-studying the stages but having a look at them and controlling the pacenotes. We were also having a look at the first three stages to see what we can improve. We are prepared for the day and have a good feeling."
