ERC Junior Griebel in car switch for warm-up rally

Marijan Griebel will try a Hyundai i20 R5 for size when he contests Rallye Lëtzebuerg in Luxembourg from 14-15 July, part of his preparations for the all-asphalt FIA European Rally Championship counters in Poland and Czech Republic next month.

The FIA ERC Junior Under 28 leader is better known for his exploits in a ŠKODA Fabia R5 but has been invited to drive the Korean machine, which is being supported by CB Events Racing and Hyundai Belgium-Luxembourg and co-driven by Luxembourg's Johny Blom.

"I am very happy about the success of this project and I would like to thank my co-driver Johny Blom for his many years of support and the fact that we can compete for this rally - I cannot wait to share the cockpit with him," said Griebel, whose regular navigator Stefan Kopczyk has stood down for the occasion.

Griebel won't get to sample the Hyundai until the event shakedown, while his ERC Junior Under 28 title rival Pepe López is also competing on Rallye Lëtzebuerg in his familiar Peugeot 208 T16.
