ERC ace Černý returns to a happy hunting ground for ACCR
Jan Černý will make his long awaited return to the FIA ERC Junior Under 28 Championship on an event where he bagged his maiden win in the category in 2017.
Černý took the ERC Junior U28 honours on Rally di Roma Capitale last September and will make his first start of the European season when the all-asphalt event takes place from 20-22 July.
"I am really happy to be back in the European Rally Championship," said Černý, whose ACCR Czech Team Ford Fiesta is co-driven by Petr Černohorský. "We wanted to start on Rally Islas Canarias, but technical problems at the very last moment forced us to withdraw.
"Since that time we did a few rounds in the Czech championship and our performance was good. It was a pity about losing third place overall on Rally Bohemia on the very last stage due to a broken driveshaft [but] I am really sure it will be nice fight with other drivers in Rome."
Last year's Rally di Roma Capitale was also notable for the ACCR Czech Team after Filip Mareš made it a win double with victory in ERC Junior Under 27.
