Ekstrom wins Q1 in Germany

Sweden's Mattias Ekstrom set the quickest time in Q1 at the ALL-INKL.COM World RX of Germany, the penultimate round of the 2017 FIA World Rallycross Championship at the Estering.

Ekstrom won race five in front of Sweden's Sebastian Eriksson, who was third quickest, just behind Norway's Andreas Bakkerud who won race two in front of Peugeot-Hansen's Kevin Hansen. Driving the PSRX Volkswagen Sweden Polo GTI for the first time since his accident at the World RX of Latvia two weeks ago, Norway's Petter Solberg set the fifth quickest time by finishing second to Finland's Topi Heikkinen in race four.

Brother's Kevin and Timmy Hansen were sixth and seventh quickest and newly crowned World RX Champion Johan Kristoffersson was eighth, spending over half of the race behind France's Davy Jeanney. Latvia's Reinis Nitiss won race three and was ninth quickest and Sweden's Kevin Eriksson was 10th. France's Sebastien Loeb was side-by-side with Nitiss at the first corner of race three but dropped to fifth after turn one and had a close race with Latvia's Janis Baumanis. Loeb was 18th quickest and Baumanis was 17th.

Denmark's Ulrik Linnemann was quickest in the FIA European Rallycross Championship for Super1600 and Norway's David Nordgard was top in the FIA European Rallycross Championship for TouringCar.
