Dubourg: "We really want to make the semis"
France's Jean-Baptiste Dubourg finished the opening day in round three of the FIA World Rallycross Championship at Hockenheim 11th in the Intermediate Classification, as he targets qualification to the semi-finals for the second time this season.
The DA Racing team was happy with its opening day performance, despite some problems in Q2. "Yesterday we were consistent, so to be P11 after the two quali races was good for us, even if we had some troubles in Free Practice," he said. "I had to learn the track and car more in Q1 after that. In Q2 I had a very good start against Ken Block and Topi Heikkinen but Block overtook me because I miss a lot of power on the straights. I made a small mistake which caused some damage so we finished without good pace."
Using the 2015-specification Team Peugeot-Hansen Peugeot 208 WRX, Dubourg has a clear objective heading into Q3 and Q4 this afternoon, with the semi-finals and final taking place at the famous German Formula 1 venue tomorrow morning. "We are quite happy but today will be important for us," continued Dubourg, who was 12th in round one of World RX at Barcelona. "We really want to be in the top 12 to stay in the semis, so we will put on new tyres in Q3 and give the best we can."
