Dubourg begins his andros trophy defence

France's Jean-Baptiste Dubourg will begin the defence of his double Andros Trophy championship titles this weekend, three weeks after completing his maiden season in the FIA World Rallycross Championship in South Africa.

The DA Racing World RX team, which Dubourg also drives for in the Andros Trophy, revealed a new Renault Captur for this winter's series last week. The Andros Trophy takes place from December to February in the French Alps. JB Dubourg will lead the two-car assault, joined in the squad by fellow DA Racing rallycross driver and younger brother, Andrea, and French Rallycross Championship regular, Christophe Jouet.

Over the last two seasons, on his way to consecutive Andros Trophy titles, Dubourg has scored 17 podiums and five victories. The DA Racing team has retained its existing engineering team, including Sebastien Breuil, who worked with the squad in the second half of the World RX season this year. "It's always a great time to settle into a new car and I'm not aiming for anything other than a third title on the ice. The Andros Trophy is decided by focusing on many small details during the preparation of the races and on the track. Several titles have been decided by one point or a few thousandths of a second in the last race of the winter," said 2015 Loheac RX podium finisher Dubourg.

"We have many assets to claim victory with, including continuity in the technical team that has been there for several years and above all, our base is strengthened year after year. But, we all know that the battle will be intense this winter. With ten podiums in thirteen races last winter, we managed to combine consistency and performance and we will have to continue in this direction this winter to reach our goals."
