British GP winner Nico Rosberg in action at Goodwood

MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula OneTM driver and British Grand Prix winner Nico Rosberg completed the third and final day of the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed in fitting style.

Behind the wheel of a W 02 Formula OneTM car, Nico blasted up the Goodwood Hill to the delight of the thousands of spectators lining the 1.16-mile mix of twists, turns and narrow straights that have become a feared and revered part of the Festival over the 20 years it's been running.

As well as lighting up the tyres and giving the crowds a thrilling demonstration of the immense power and agility of a modern Formula OneTM car, Nico took part in a live interview session on the Mercedes-Benz stand before taking time to meet the fans and take in the atmosphere at the Festival.

A little more sedate but no less loud was Nico's run in a 1954 W 196.

Nico commented: ‘The fans here have been really enthusiastic and it was fun on the Hill, and going between two cars more than 50 years apart was an amazing experience. Last year at Goodwood I put my hood up and had a sneaky look around the Festival without anyone noticing - hopefully I can do the same this year, it's a special place and there's nothing like it anywhere in the world.'

With two wins so far this season, Nico Rosberg sits in sixth place in the FIA Formula OneTM Drivers' World Championship, with the team placed second in the Constructors' World Championship.

Formula OneTM fans had the chance to get up close to one of the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS cars on the Mercedes-Benz stand at Goodwood along with the opportunity to see the new S-Class ahead of its arrival in UK showrooms in October. The most powerful electric road car yet created, the SLS AMG Electric Drive Coupé, also made its UK debut at Goodwood - alongside the current and future range of cars from AMG. This in addition to the racing and road cars from Mercedes-Benz in action on the Goodwood Hill.

An estimated 180,000 people attended the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year - making it one of the most successful yet.
